I find one of the best ways to recharge my writing skills and refresh my focus is by attending a conference specific to my type of writing.

You get to connect with like-minded people, learn new techniques at seminars, browse new software and writing tools in exhibit halls and most importantly — elevate your own interest and dedication to your craft.

So, I decided it might be fun to do a round-up of writing conferences that cater to people who write online. Bloggers, online marketers, web journalists, public relations pros, digital content creators and podcasters, this post is for you!

New Media Expo (Formerly Blog World)

This year the New Media Expo is teaming up with the National Association of Broadcasters conference. The duo show is being held in Las Vegas on April 13-16, 2015. The attendees list includes bloggers, podcasters, web video makers and content marketing professionals. (I’ll be at #NMX this year. Will you? Let me know!)

Update: As of March 2016, chatter on Twitter indicates that the New Media Expo will not happen in 2016.

BlogHer Annual Conference

Ladies, if you looking to connect with other female bloggers online, head to the annual BlogHer conference. This year it’s in New York City on July 16-18, 2015. Topics on the conference agenda include storytelling, building your brand, using social media, writing better headlines, using visuals on your blog and so much more!

Content Marketing World

Marketing and public relations professionals will descend on Cleveland, Ohio on September 8-11, 2015 for CMW. Topics addressed at the conference include content strategies, blogging tips, scaling content and social media marketing.

Society of Professional Journalists Excellence in Journalism

Head to sunny Orlando, Florida for the annual SPJ conference on September 18-20, 2015. This event caters to journalists of all types, including newsroom decision makers, leaders, station managers, reporters, producers, content managers, editors, freelancers and educators.

Do you know of another writing conference that’s incredibly informative and helpful for online writers? Tell me about it in the comments below! I’d love to add it to this list!
