2 Quick Writing Tips from a Journalist to a Blogger (200 words)

A writer friend recently asked for feedback on his blog posts. I gladly clicked on the link and read his informative and interesting topics.

I browsed actionable advice. But, there were gaps.

I suggested a few tips to polish those posts so they’d really shine, and I thought it might be helpful to share them with you too!

1. Identify Sources

As a former newspaper journalist, the use of sources is ingrained in my brain. Although I’ve migrated to the world of content marketing, I still lean on reputable journals and interviews with experts to back up facts and ideas. Using, naming and linking to quality sources elevates the authority and reputation of your writing.

2. Offer Resources

As a writer, you want to be thorough. One way to ensure readers aren’t left with lingering questions is by offering information beyond what’s presented within the article. Integrating links to additional resources and related articles shows you want your reader to have the opportunity to be fully informed.
